High Level RCMP believe “speed & alcohol” to be a factor in last week’s crash

High Level RCMP have provided an update on a single-vehicle rollover from last week (Wednesday, November 6).

According to Mounties, they responded alongside EMS and fire services to Highway 58, near Range Road 170 in Mackenzie County around 6:18 p.m.

Once on the scene, officers found the passenger was flung from the vehicle during the crash. However, both the driver and passenger were suffering from serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the crash, a 28-year-old Fort Vermillion resident had two charges laid against him; including impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

At this time, RCMP believe speed and alcohol were a factor.

Mounties thank the public for their understanding as the collision resulted in a highway closure for an extended period of time.
