County Council presents 100 Years of Farming Awards

A pair of farming families in the County of Grande Prairie area were recognized at Tuesday’s County Council meeting.
Councillors Chrenek, Harris, and Rosvold presented the 100 Years of Farming Awards to the Lock and Richards families to highlight their dedication and resilience in helping shape the County.
The Lock Family was presented the Heritage Award; which recognizes families who homesteaded and farmed the same land continuously for 100 years or more.
The Richards Family was presented the Pioneer Award for families that have lived and farmed in the county for 100 years or more.
