MD of Greenview releases Solar Energy Survey results

The Municipal District of Greenview has released the results of their public engagement to gauge feedback on proposed solar energy projects in the area.

The MD says their online engagement page had 219 visitors, with 184 responding to the page’s survey.

Of the 184 responders, 69 strongly opposed developing a renewable energy project in the municipality, 92 said any approved project should cover no area larger then less than 10 acres, and 91 believe a solar project should not be allowed even if coexistence with existing agriculture was proven.

The MD says they wanted to ensure any large-scale renewable energy projects are thoroughly evaluated with the interests of residents and the agricultural industry in mind.
