Grande Prairie RCMP to host town halls next week

Nov 21, 2024 | 6:00 AM

Grande Prairie RCMP Superintendent Peter King is inviting residents to attend town halls next week on crime, public safety and policing issues.

“This important community input is fed back into the Grande Prairie RCMP’s annual planning process, ensuring that policing priorities in Grande Prairie are informed by residents and are reflective of the community’s policing needs,” says King in a news release from the detachment.

The town halls are open to all community members to share their concerns. They will include with Q & A sessions and a presentation.

Pre-registration is not required.

The town halls will run from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. both Tuesday, November 26 and Wednesday, November 27.

Alongside these town halls, residents wanting to share their concerns can also do so through an online survey, which will help guide local RCMP efforts.

“Collaboration with the community is a critical component of effective, community-led policing,” adds King.
