Tinseltown kicks off Friday at Bonnett’s Energy Centre

Nov 21, 2024 | 1:25 PM

Another weekend will be filled with various vendors, a wine bar, and multiple visits from Saint Nicholas this November 22-24 at Bonnett’s Energy Centre.

Tinseltown is returning to raise funds for Compassion House, a place for women to stay down in Edmonton while going through cancer treatments.

Events Coordinator for Tinseltown, Erin Weeks says this is more than just a place to check off some items of your Christmas list.

“We’ve got homemade and handmade vendors, but also Tinseltown Tiny’s; where there will be a colouring contest, crafts, and even reading stories with Mrs. Claus.”

There is also “Daddy and Daughter Day” on Sunday, when each child will receive a special gift bag sponsored by Once Upon A Child and receive VIP treatment by skipping the lineups for photos, face painting, Tinseltown Tiny’s, and more.

Weeks notes Mr. Claus will also be making appearances throughout the weekend for children to see him and take pictures with.

Santa will be at Tinseltown:

  • Friday 5 – 8 p.m.
  • Saturday 3 – 5 p.m.
  • Sunday 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. & 1 – 4 p.m.

Weeks says there is also a silent auction to raise even more funds for Compassion House, which is a cause that is near and dear to her.

“It is very close to my heart. In 2018, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and actually stayed there, as well as my aunty just a year later.”

Over 4,000 people attended the vendor market in 2022, and have raised over $28,200 for Compassion House over the years.

There is also a 50/50 and the silent auction taking place over the weekend, which can be accessed either in person or online.

Weeks notes a big raffle draw that can only be entered in-person at the market, which is an Oilers game prize valued at $3,000.

She also says a big selling point for people to come and enjoy the entire weekend at Tinseltown is the wine bar.

Tickets are $8 early bird (bought before Thursday, November 21 at 11:59 p.m.) or $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online, by clicking here.

The market is open:

  • Friday 3 – 9 p.m.
  • Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
