$250K lottery winner in High Prairie

A High Prairie woman is now a quarter of a million dollars richer after winning the EXTRA draw on her Western 649 ticket.

Cheryl Howells says she has no definite plans on what to do with this windfall, but says she will probably invest it for now.

She realized she had a winning ticket when scanning them in a store and was in total shock after seeing $250,000 on the screen.

“It feels awesome!”

For what to do with her winnings in the future, Cheryl says retirement is only a few years away and it’s on her mind.

She says she buys ‘Super Packs’ every week and purchased her winning ticket at the Pop In! store in High Prairie. She won by matching all seven numbers in the September 14 EXTRA draw: 5612178.
