County thanking residents for patience during Hythe water outage

The County of Grande Prairie is thanking residents of Hythe for their patience with the ongoing planned water outages.

The outages are part of a valve replacement project being funded by a grant that is guaranteed up until the end of 2024.

Director of Municipal Utilities Dalen Peterson says excavation delays due to shallow undergrounds utilities and unmapped waterlines have extended the project to mid-December.

During the rotating outages, water will be shut off from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and only properties connected to the Hythe Waterworks system will be affected, though connected properties outside of the outage area are asked to reduce their water usage on days when outages occur.
