One fatality in traffic collision on Highway 43

Mounties in Valleyview have provided an update on the traffic collision involving an ATV in the early morning hours of November 28, 2024.

The incident took place along Highway 43, in the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation area at approximately 4 a.m. and the highway was closed for several hours due to this.

RCMP, alongside other emergency crews, attended the scene where two vehicles had collided and a 31-year-old man was found dead.

Both vehicles involved have been identified and RCMP say they will continue to investigate this collision.

Police send their condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.

Valleyview RCMP are asking anyone that may have captured dash cam footage between the hours of 3:00-4:00 a.m. on November, 28, 2024 along Highway 43 in the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation area to please contact your local detachment if you have relevant information to provide.
