Dec 2, 2024 | 1:17 PM

The City of Grande Prairie is advising motorists to be wary of icy roads as freezing rain is in the forecast for the area.

The city is giving residents an update on its ongoing snow clearing operations, adding that water trucks will be out to control water drainage as temperatures are expected to rise today.

Residential clearing is occurring Monday, December 2 throughout the Week B neighbourhoods of Crystal Heights, Crystal Landing, and Summit and Ivy Lake Estates.

On Tuesday, December 3, temporary parking restrictions will be in place while work is conducted in the Country Club Estates, Countryside North and South, Signature Falls and Country Club West neighbourhoods.

Additionally, blading and snow removing crews are working on 102 and 108 Avenues, and sanding plows are patrolling Priority 1 and 2 roads as well as outskirt areas.
