Freezing rain warning in greater Peace Region

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning as of Monday morning for many areas north of Grande Prairie, spanning east across the province.

Freezing rain has already began in Peace River, as well as Grande Prairie, and will expand eastward towards Cold Lake this afternoon.

It is expected this weather system will move on and end in the greater Peace Region by Monday evening/night.

Surfaces such as highways, sidewalks, roads, and parking lots are expected to get icy and slippery due to the rain.

The weather office is asking drivers to drive with caution and maintain a safe following distance behind other vehicles.
