GPES offering safe winter driving tips

Grande Prairie Enforcement Services is encouraging motorists to pay attention to the roads and their vehicles while driving in winter conditions.
GPES is sharing some tips to stay safe this winter:
- Ensure your vehicle is clear of frost and snow
- Leave more space between your vehicle and the one ahead of you
- Keep your headlights on at low beam all the time
- Remember that speed limits are intended for ideal road conditions and that it is better to slow down in the winter
- Signal well in advance of turning
- Install winter-rated tires
Winter conditions are always the most difficult to drive in. We encourage all motorists to take their time while driving, leave extra space between your vehicle and those around you, and avoid distractions. We want to ensure that everyone gets home safely.
