Mountview Health Complex town hall meeting in Beaverlodge Wednesday night

Dec 4, 2024 | 2:48 PM

There will be a town hall meeting tonight (Wednesday, December 4) in Beaverlodge about the new Mountview Health Complex.

A release from the province says this is being done to keep the community informed.

Both Alberta Health Services and the Mountview Health Complex Committee say in that same release that they will consult with people in health care and the community.

That meeting will start at 6 p.m. at the Beaverlodge Community Centre.

The province announced in late November that the replacement for the Beaverlodge Hospital would provide 24/7 urgent care. A 16-hour per day idea had also been considered.

“The 24/7 Urgent Care model allows us, as physicians, to continue to practice full-scope medicine. This directly benefits the patients we treat and supports physician development and retention. We look forward to providing care in a larger, modern facility,” say physicians Dr. Robert Crowe, Dr. Florentina Duta, Dr. Saurabh Parmar, Dr. Camellia Presley, and Dr Chantelle Scrutton in another release from the province.
