Alberta RCMP MCU homicide investigation leads to an arrest

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has made one arrest related to a homicide near the Whitecourt Airport on Saturday, December 7.

At 3:21 p.m. Mounties were notified of the shooting along with a suspect’s location, leading them to detain a suspect on Highway 43 and search the vehicle; uncovering a firearm.

The deceased victim, identified as 44-year-old David Beauchesne, a resident of Whitecourt, was located by EMS and officers when they arrived at the airport.

Fourty-three-year-old Whitecourt resident Mathew Charles Jackson had second-degree murder charges laid against him, with a court date set for tomorrow. (Tuesday, December 10)
