Grande Prairie woman charged after November arrest connected to stolen mail, documents

Dec 12, 2024 | 3:39 PM

Grande Prairie RCMP says they made an arrest related to stolen mail and documents the same day the postal strike started.

Mounties say that on November 15, the Crime Reduction Unit did a traffic stop near 94 Avenue and Willow Drive at 1 a.m. on November 15.

Police say that they found what they call “multiple identity documents and mail belonging to multiple people” during that traffic stop. A search of the vehicle also turned up break-in tools.

Forty-four-year-old Vanessa Jordan is facing seven charges, including two each of unlawful possession of identity documents and failure to comply with a release order.

She was held in custody until a hearing, then released. She is due back in court Monday.
