City of Grande Prairie opens several outdoor skating options

The City of Grande Prairie opened several local outdoor skating surfaces this past weekend.

Eight different surfaces, ranging from skating ovals to full Outdoor Rinks are now open for the season:

  • Alexander Forbes
  • Hillside
  • I.V. Macklin
  • J.C. Mackie Park
  • MCC Skating Oval
  • Montrose
  • Swanavon
  • Parkside

The City said in the release that park crews and a Zamboni maintained the ice on Friday, (December 13) ensuring a smooth surface. However, the pond at Muskoseepi Park remains closed to skaters.
