Grande Prairie RCMP arrest youth following investigation into tire slashing incidents

Grande Prairie RCMP are reporting an arrest has been made following an investigation of several tire slashing incidents.

Four reports of tire slashing were sent to the RCMP on Tuesday, January 7, from the areas of 102 Street to 100 Street, and 104 Avenue to 107 Avenue.

A 14-year-old Grande Prairie resident has been arrested, but will not be named as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The youth has been charged with 23 counts of mischief under $5000, failure to comply with release order, and failure to comply with a court order.

Following a judicial hearing, the youth was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie February 3.
