Red Earth Creek RCMP turn missing person case over to MCU

Red Earth Creek RCMP are updating the public about ongoing efforts to locate a missing person.

Red Earth Creek RCMP turned over carriage of the case regarding missing person, 34-year-old Cory Netowastanum to the Alberta Major Crimes Unit (MCU) on Wednesday, January 22.

At this time RCMP says they will continue to be present in Red Earth Creek and are thankful for the community’s help so far.

However, Mounties did say in the update that information regarding an individual and a vehicle that was seen with Cory, has been identified as something unrelated to this missing persons case.

At this time, Cory was last seen in Loon Lake on January 10, and the investigation is still ongoing.

He is described as:

  • 5’10”
  • 210 lbs
  • Brown hair
  • Neck tattoos

In the release, RCMP ask residents to share any information regarding’s Cory’s disappearance to report it to RCMP, as “however small it may be, (it) may be extremely important for investigators.”
