Centre for Creative Arts hosting opening reception for Community Over Empire art exhibit as part of Black History Month

An opening reception is being held this week at the Centre for Creative Arts as part of Black History Month festivities in Grande Prairie.
Community Over Empire: The Line That Divide explores how artists and artisans from Africa and the African Diaspora express their creative contributions to the cultural tapestry of Grande Prairie.
The exhibition showcases the work of local talents Aretha Laverne, and Aurel Tsafack and fashion designers Jane Oppong of JELAns Fashion, and Tommy of Dekur Clothings.
The exhibition is free to experience from January 17 to February 28, the opening reception is taking place February 7.
