Feb 4, 2025 | 12:01 PM

The Grande Prairie Public School Division has announced the ratification of a new four-year deal with the GPPSD Employee’s Association.

The agreement retroactively goes into effect September 1 2024 through to August 31 2028 and marks a milestone between the division and its non-instructional staff.

Key priorities addressed in the agreement include fair compensation and initiatives to create a positive environment.

Through collective bargaining, the parties have ratified a 12% deal over the next four years (3%, 3%, 3%, 3%) expiring August 31, 2028.

Joan Nellis, Chair of GPPSD’s Board of Trustees, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration.

“We are thrilled that both parties have ratified this agreement,” says Nellis. “It reflects a shared commitment to maintaining a supportive and cooperative environment for our staff and students. This agreement provides stability and strengthens the partnership that continues to build stronger school communities and supports the success of every student.”

Roxann MacDonald, President of the GPPSD Employee Association, also highlighted the agreement’s significance.

“Our members’ contributions are invaluable,” says MacDonald. “This agreement reflects the respect and recognition they rightfully deserve. We are eager to continue supporting GPPSD students and families through this strong partnership.”
