Northern, southern Alberta curlers team up to win provincial title

A combined Grande Prairie-Okotoks team has won a provincial curling championship.

The Delia DeJong rink captured the Alberta Seniors Women’s title Sunday in Leduc.

They beat the Michelle Hartwell team from Edmonton 6-4 in the final.

The DeJong rink had lost the 1-2 game to Hartwell 5-4 before beating the Deb Santos team from Sherwood Park 8-2 in the semi final.

The Canadian Seniors Championship is set for December 1-6 in Ottawa.
