Peace Country Classic Agri-Show gets underway Thursday

Mar 6, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Thursday March 6, is Day 1 of the 39th Peace Country Classic Agri-Show at Evergreen Park.

President Jason Anderson says the exhibit space for the trade show sold out and there is a waiting list.

“With a long-standing show and one of our few opportunities for the ag. business to show off its newest and best, it’s just a great place.”

“It’s kind (of common) to have a full show, typically.”

Anderson says a lot of familiar things are back this year.

“Not going to be a whole lot different. We’ve got our (Peace) Crafts & Creations (show and sale) and we’ve got our exciting programming over in the horse barns and, once again, the Bids from Kids, our fun action for children.”

“It’s very similar to past shows.”

Anderson says the Kid’s Zone inside the front entrance of the TARA Centre was upgraded last year.

“It’s a little more safety-city oriented, so there is a bit more for children to do (which) helps in that regard.”

The Northern Classic Bull Sale and the salutes to the farm family are also back. Both take place on Friday. The Alde family from Broken Tine Orchard is this year’s County of Grande Prairie Farm Family of the Year.

Anderson says it will be good again to have the show on at the same time as the Mighty Peace Teacher’s Convention.

“It’s awesome to be able to teach the youth of the area, and of our cities in general, about agriculture.”

“It’s not always a learning spot, but it’s a great place for kids just to go and climb up in onto that monster, big piece of equipment and get a picture with mom and dad. It’s just plain fun, right?”

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.
