Hockey, swim meet, ski hills for this weekend

Storm

The Grande Prairie Storm will host the Lloydminster Bobcats for the final two games of the regular season this weekend, games that will also be a playoff preview.

The games this weekend will go Friday starting at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

The Storm will also host the Bobcats to open the playoffs on March 21 and 22.

The Storm will finish the regular season in second place while Lloydminster will be third.

The top four teams in each division made the playoffs.

Whitecourt finished first in the North Division and will play Fort McMurray in the opening round of the playoffs.

NWJHL

La Crete will play Fort St. John in the Northwest Junior Hockey League final.

The Lumber Barons will host Game 1 Saturday starting at 7:00 p.m. and Game 2 Sunday starting at 1:30.

NPHL

The North Peace Hockey League final will resume Saturday with Falher in Manning.

The series is tied 1-1.

Game time will be 8:30.

Swimming

The Grande Prairie Piranhas host their March Madness swim meet Saturday and Sunday at the Eastlink Centre.

It will go from 8:00 a.m. to noon both days.

Ski Hills

Nitehawk ski hill is open Friday from 5:30 to 9:30 and from 11-5 Saturday and Sunday. The Tube Zone is open Friday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon-2:00 and 2:30 to 4:30.

Whispering Pines Ski Hill is open Friday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Spring Lake Ski Hill is open Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Little Smoky Ski Area is open Friday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Misery Mountain is open from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. Fridays and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
