Long-time Slave Lake resident to “finally buy a house” after lotto win

A Slave Lake resident has won just under a million dollars thanks to the Lightning LOTTO Jackpot draw and says it felt like a gift.

Stacy Brown was at the Winks on 6 Avenue SW in Slave Lake buying groceries and decided to purchase a ticket for the March 2 draw; as” I’ve never seen it this high, it’s gonna go soon!”

Brown then watched “WIN” burst onto the screen and said he could feel his legs go wobbly.

He then celebrated his $987,430.20 with the cashier before his wife came over to join in.

With his winnings, Brown said he is “finally going to buy a house” after living in the community for 30 years, and “might take a cruise somewhere.”
