AHS holding measles immunization drop-in clinics in High Level and Fort Vermilion

Alberta Health Services will host drop-in measles immunization clinics Saturday in High Level and Fort Vermilion.

AHS both will run from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Public Health office in both communities.

Kids aged 12 months and older not already getting a measles. mumps, rubella and chickenpox vaccine; anyone older than six months travelling to areas inside and outside of Canada where the disease is spreading; and those who do have the recommended number of doses are eligable to get a shot.

AHS adds that appointments are not required.

Six cases of measles were recently confirmed in the same house at Little Red River Cree Nation.
