GPPS shuts down Cobblestone flop house

The Grande Prairie Police Service’s Community Standards Unit says it has shut down a flop house in Cobblestone that was a safety hazard for the community.
Police say they were first called to the home on March 27 for what they describe as a wellness check.
Once they got there, they found that people with no connection to the home had been staying there and that the house was not habitable and in “complete disarray.”
Officers say they heard from people in the community that other people had been coming and going for several months and there were some that were worried about what was going on inside.
