Apr 9, 2025 | 11:16 AM
Flags at City and County of Grande Prairie facilities are at half mast today.
The flags are lowered to mark the National Day of Remembrance of the battle of Vimy Ridge.
The World War One battle lasted four days in 1917 and resulted in the loss of almost 4,000 soldiers from Canada and the United Kingdom.
The City of Grande Prairie says April 9 is a day to honour the members of the Canadian Corps and their sacrifices to shape Canada’s future.
