Grande Prairie Music Parents Association “enhancing programming” at four schools

Apr 9, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Four new schools in the Grande Prairie Public School Division now have access to new instruments, thanks to generous community support.

According to GPPSD, the Grande Prairie Music Parents Association helped not only create an “inclusive and vibrant musical community” but has also secured $4,852.19 in musical grants.

Money from these grants will be now used for new instruments at Derek Taylor Public, Aspen Grove, I.V. Macklin Public, and Roy Bickell Public School, to enhance already existing programming.

In a release, the school district says it hopes these new instruments lead to programs that “spark curiosity, build confidence, foster creativity, and celebrate personal achievement” for students.
