Storm sweep Wolverines, advance to AJHL Finals

The Grande Prairie Storm are the North Division Champions after a series sweep of the Whitecourt Wolverines on Tuesday night.

The Storm were able to get a 6-5 win on a power play 17 seconds into overtime to defeat the Wolverines in four games and advance to the AJHL Finals.

There were over 2,100 people in attendance at Bonnetts Energy Centre.

Goals from Storm players in Game 4 were: Alec Hall unassisted, Chase Christensen, Tomis Marinkovic, two in a row from Carter Streek, and the game winner by Chayse Laurie.

The Storm have yet to lose a game in playoffs, after defeating the Lloydminster Bobcats in four games in the first round as well as Whitecourt in four games in the second round.

Grande Prairie awaits either the Calgary Canucks or the Drumheller Dragons in the championship series. The South Division series is currently 3-0 for Calgary and have the chance to sweep the Dragons Wednesday night.
