High Prairie RCMP issues ticket to driver going 206 km/h

High Prairie RCMP issued a speeding ticket Tuesday to a driver exceeding the limit by over 100 km/h.

On April 8, Mounties were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 2 when a vehicle was locked on laser at 206 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

The driver was given a mandatory court date for exceeding the speed limit and driving carelessly.

Alberta RCMP is reminding drivers to slow down this spring, after issuing over 48,000 speeding tickets in 2024.
