Grande Prairie RCMP speed enforcement operation results
Earlier this week, Grande Prairie RCMP were conducting a speed enforcement operation along Highway 40.
Mounties say a number of tickets and warnings were handed out, with the worst infractions consisting of what they called, “performing stunts,” a ticket for doing a 104 km/h in a construction zone with workers present, and 120 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
In the release, Grande Prairie RCMP Constable Van Eyk issued a warning to drivers that even though warmer weather brings nicer roads,” we are calling on the public to follow speed limits, stressing the importance of protecting all road users and roadside workers.”
However, there were some positives from the operation as RCMP did “commend the majority of drivers who demonstrate responsibility and contribute to road safety by obeying traffic regulations,” in the release.
