Apr 17, 2025 | 1:45 PM

Evergreen Park is hosting a plethora of rodeo events this Easter weekend.

The Alberta High School Rodeo D3 Freedom Rodeo is happening Friday through Sunday for Junior High and High School contestants.

There will be bareback riding, bareback steer, barrel racing, breakaway roping, tied down roping, ribbon roping, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, chute doggin, goat tying, team roping, bull riding, and poles.

Events start at 9:00 a.m. at Lewis Hawkes Arena and will run until about 5:00 p.m. each day. You can find the schedule by clicking here.

There is also a fundraiser for the Alberta High School Rodeo Association on Saturday evening; the Cowgirl Triathlon and Wild Horse Racing. Organizers say it’s the first time these two events are being shown together.

The special Cowgirl Triathlon consists of breakaway roping, barrel racing, and goat tying all in one run.

The Wild Horse Racing has four teams in the arena at a time, three people per team with a wild horse that needs to get stopped, saddled, get a rider on, and around barrels.

It starts at 7:00 p.m., doors open at 6:00 p.m. at the Fosters Pavillion at Lewis Hawkes arena in Evergreen Park. Tickets are available at the entrance for $20 per person, $50 per family, and kids 10 and under are free.
