Beaverlodge firefighters raising funds for member in medically induced coma

The Beaverlodge Fire Department is rallying behind one of their own.

Firefighter Winston Hopp has been in a medically induced coma after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest April 16 during physical fire training at the hall.

While medical professionals investigate the cause of Winston’s event, the members of his department are working to raise funds to support him, his wife and two children during this difficult time.

They aim to raise $30,000 to ease any financial bills the family faces while Winston recovers and have already raised close to $20,000.
