City & County of Grande Prairie partnering to celebrate Earth Day

Apr 24, 2025 | 7:00 AM

Grande Prairie residents are invited to celebrate Earth Day (Saturday, April 26) with the City and County of Grande Prairie this weekend.

The City is planning an Earth Day event at the Montrose Cultural Centre on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., with multiple “interactive exhibits, educational opportunities and fun activities.”

During the event, residents can choose from 14 seeds at the GP Grows Seed Bar, experience a live, close-up look of the role of pollinators, and view a showcase of sustainable electric vehicles, alongside a number of other activities.

In the release, Mayor Jackie Clayton says, “Earth Day is a powerful reminder that small everyday choices can lead to a more sustainable future.”

To encourage sustainability, free transit will also be offered throughout the city on Saturday.
