911 phone services for Northern Alberta are now fully and independently operational.
If you have an emergency, call 9-1-1.
GP911 says it is built with backup systems to ensure it keeps working without interruption, even if one part of the system fails.
GP911 has requested a comprehensive review of the service disruption to ensure transparency and accountability for the incident, but confirms the outage was beyond their control.
Residents in the affected areas are being thanked for their patience and understanding while GP911 worked to restore service.

UPDATE 5:15 p.m.: A release from city hall says 911 service is open again through what it refers to as partner agencies.
A critical alert has been downgraded to an advisory.
People with an emergency can again call 911 and are encouraged to try again if the call is disconnected.
If 911 doesn’t work, people can call 780-538-0393 for fire dispatch, 780-624-3911 for EMS, and 780-310-7267 for RCMP, or attend the stations in person.
The city’s release says Telus is investigating this outage.
