County of Grande Prairie Professional Firefighters warns against driving over fire hoses

The County of Grande Prairie Professional Firefighters is advising the public to use more caution when it comes to firefighter’s equipment.

The non-profit is reporting multiple vehicles drove over fire hoses at a fire scene in the county yesterday, which could have led to serious damage.

They say driving over hoses can lead to leaks or bursts that compromise the ability to deliver water and puts not only the firefighters at risk but also jeopardizes the safety of the surrounding community.

Drivers are being advised to stay clear of fire scenes whenever possible, listen to emergency personnel, and share their message of respecting fire hoses.
