City extends Barrier-Free Grant deadline

Apr 30, 2025 | 6:00 AM

The City of Grande Prairie is extending the application deadline for its Barrier-Free Grant program.

The initiative aims to provide financial support to commercial property and business owners undertaking accessibility improvement projects.

The grant offers a matching grant covering 50 per cent of project costs up to $20,000 for projects focused on making both physical spaces and communication more inclusive for people with disabilities.

Mayor Jackie Clayton says by supporting accessibility improvements, we are enhancing the quality of life for all residents.

The deadline to apply for the grant has been extended to December 31 2025.
