Peace Regional RCMP “cracking down on impaired drivers”
May 3, 2025 | 10:00 AM
Peace Regional RCMP are reminding residents about the dangers of impaired driving after handing out 20 sanctions between March 1, and April 30.
In a release, Mounties said, “there is no excuse to driving impaired, and that driving while impaired with drugs or alcohol is dangerous, putting not only your life at risk, but the lives of others using our public spaces.”
Mounties are also reminding residents that they can perform Mandatory Alcohol Screening tests for any traffic stop, and a refusal to the screening leads to a charge that carries as much weight as driving impaired.
Residents are asked to report anyone they suspect of driving impaired to the Peace Regional detachment by dialling 780-624-6611, or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8377 (TIPS).
