May 4, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Grande Prairie RCMP say a suspect charged after a stolen vehicle led to that vehicle’s owner being dragged a short distance is due in court Wednesday, May 7.

Mounties say on April 13 just before 4:30 a.m., someone had stopped at a west side gas station. They came out to find someone trying to steal their vehicle.

The vehicle owner tried to stop the theft but was dragged a short distance. The owner was not hurt.

About an hour later, police located the vehicle in some trees near Range Road 83A and Township Road 710. An arrest was made a short time later.

A man from British Columbia, 54-year-old Charles Mcintosh, is facing charges that include assault with a weapon, theft over $5000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of possession of a weapon contrary, and possession of ammunition knowing possession is unauthorized.

RCMP are asking the public to contact them if they see something suspicious.
