Sawed-off shotguns among items seized during search warrant in Bluesky

Fairview RCMP say a man has been arrested following a search warrant on a property that stemmed from a complaint of an assault with a weapon.

On May 6, 2025, Mounties received the complaint and identified a suspect and with some investigation had discovered they were in possession of illegal firearms.

A search warrant on a vacant property in Bluesky took place on May 7, 2025, by members of the Fairview RCMP detachment on two RV’s and vehicles in relation to the assault.

As a result of the search, police found and seized:

  • 5 firearms, 2 of which were sawed-off shotguns
  • Crossbow
  • A small amount of various drugs
  • Ammunition
  • $3,200 in Canadian currency

Clear Hills County resident, 38-year-old Luke Anderson was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon;
  • Uttering threats;
  • Possession of a firearm while prohibited (x5)
  • Other firearm-related offences (x11)

Anderson was brought before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in Peace River court on May 12, 2025.
