One arrested following structure fire in downtown Peace River

A Peace River resident has been arrested following a structure fire last week.

On May 9, Peace Regional RCMP were called to the scene of a fire on the corner of 94 Avenue and 98 Street in Peace River.

Around the same time, calls were being made of a female suspect screaming and throwing rocks at vehicles about 100-200 metres from where the fire occurred, and Mounties were able to quickly identify and locate her.

Marie Dawn Thomas (36) of Peace River has been charged with two counts of Disturbing the Peace, two counts of Mischief, and arson.

Thomas was remanded into custody following a judicial hearing was to be in Peace River court on Monday, May 12.
