City of Grande Prairie commences capital construction season

The City of Grande Prairie has begun it’s 2025 capital construction season.

Traffic signal upgrades are already underway, and additional projects are set to begin this month.

Key improvements are planned to take place on several routes, including 84 Avenue, 96 Street, 102 Street, 102A Avenue, 114 Street, 123 Avenue, Crystal Lake Drive, Pinnacle Boulevard, Royal Oaks Drive, 68 Avenue and 97B Street.

Additional resurfacing and reconstruction work is scheduled at:

  • 132 Avenue (116 Street to 103 Street)
  • 97 Avenue (108 Street to 112 Street)
  • 99 Street (132 Avenue to the north city limit)
  • 139 Avenue (99 Street to 100 Street)
  • 90 Street (64 Avenue to 67 Avenue)

Road rehabilitation is being planned for sections of the old highway bypass, including:

  • 116 Street and 100 Avenue intersection – Mill and pave
  • 100 Avenue from 124 Street to 132 Street (Range Road 65) – Mill and pave

The city notes that some of these projects are still in the pre-engineering stage, and may get pushed to next year.
