Multiple Grande Prairie neighbourhoods being canvassed this summer

May 20, 2025 | 12:10 PM

Canvassing of many areas of Grande Prairie will be taking place this summer to update property records and keep tax assessments up to date.

The City says neighbourhood canvassing will begin on May 26, with exterior property photos happening in late June through August.

Inspections and photo are done every five years to create a record of any changes made to properties over time.

The neighbourhoods being canvassed this year are:

  • Bear Creek
  • Cedarwood/Southwood
  • Cobblestone
  • Copperwood
  • Cornerstone
  • Countryside North & South
  • Crystal Landing
  • Downtown residential
  • Fieldbrook
  • Riverstone
  • Smith
  • South Patterson Place

Assessors will also be taking photos of the exterior of homes to update City files.

All City Assessors will be in vehicles marked with a City of Grande Prairie badge and will have their ID badges on hand.

Canvassing will be happening throughout the summer and will wrap up in late August.
