AHS reports measles exposure in Fort Vermilion

May 28, 2025 | 2:35 PM

Alberta Health Services says someone with measles was at a public place in Fort Vermilion while infectious.

AHS says they were at St. Theresa General Hospital on May 27 between 11:30 a.m. and 3:50 p.m.

AHS adds that anyone who was there at the same time, born in 1970 or after, and has had fewer than two measles vaccinations may be at risk of developing the disease.

Symptoms of measles include a fever, cough, red eyes, and a rash that appears a few days to a week after the fever starts.

Health officials say anyone with symptoms should stay home and call the measles hotline at

1-844-944-3434 before seeking medical help.
