Four northern Alberta communities evacuated because of wildfires

Wildfires have forced the evacuation of four more northern Alberta communities

Evacuation orders were issued for Red Earth Creek, Peerless Lake, Trout Lake, and Loon Lake on Thursday morning.

The one for Red Earth Creek was issued just after 1 a.m., with the others coming between 10:30 and 11 a.m.

The first checkpoint for evacuees is the Legacy Centre in Slave Lake. Busses were being provided for anyone needing transportation.

An evacuation order was put in place for Chipewyan Lake on Wednesday evening.
