Rain showers earlier in the day didn’t put a hamper on the action out at Evergreen Park on Thursday evening.

The World Professional Chuckwagon Association’s 46th running of the Grande Prairie Stompede saw former GP champion Luke Tournier top of the standings.

Tournier was the Day 2 money winner and had the fastest time of the night with 1:16.85, winning by just 14 one-hundredths of a second over Jason Glass.

The top five heading into Day 3 are: Luke Tournier, Jason Glass, Jordie Fike, Obrey Motowylo, and Layne MacGillivray.

The top wagon in the aggregate after Saturday’s run will receive the Ralph Vigen Memorial Award and the use of a 2025 GMC Truck for one year, courtesy of Summit Fleet.

The top four drivers in the aggregate following Saturday night’s heats will go into the $40,000 Championship Final Heat on Sunday, where the winner will receive the big winner’s cheque and become the 2025 Grande Prairie Stompede Champion.
