Here Comes Summer returns to Muskoseepi Park

Jun 1, 2025 | 11:00 AM

The City of Grande Prairie’s third annual Here Comes Summer event is set to get underway Friday afternoon (June 6).

Residents are invited to kick off the season with free family activities, swimming and a barbecue while supplies last.

It will run out of Muskoseepi Park from 2:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Mayor Jackie Clayton when discussing the event said; “whether you come by for a swim, a hot dog or just to enjoy the sunshine, we’re proud to offer opportunities that bring our community together and support well-being all summer long.”

In the past,l Here Comes Summer has servesd as opening day for the Aquatera Outdoor Pool, however, this year the pool will open ahead of time, begining operations tomorrow (Monday, June 1).

This year, Aquatera wants to make residents aware of a few of the “public’s favourite offerings” returning for the summer:

  • Grande Access Pass (GAP) members day every Tuesday. GAP members can bring a friend for free all day and make music requests.
  • Youth Day every Thursday. Youth Day features a $2 entry for ages 13 to 17.
  • Private facility rental options from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays all season in one and two-hour time slots.

Anyone wanting more information about the outdoor pool, or Here Comes Summer can visit the City’s website.
