Kelly Lake wildfire update #10

Jun 5, 2025 | 7:35 AM

Another update regarding the ongoing wildfire situation in the County of Grande Prairie was shared last night.

The county says the evacuation alert remains in effect for residents who reside on the path of the Kelly Lake Wildfire, including those living north of Township Road 710 to Township Road 740, east of the British Columbia/Alberta border to Range Road 130.

Alberta Wildfire expects the blaze to only become bigger in the next couple of days due to dry and windy conditions.

At this time, fire crews are setting up additional structural protections in the expanded evacuation alert area.

The County asks residents to stay clear of both fire crews and RCMP as they work.

A local state of emergency will now stay in place for the time being.

A fire ban also remains in effect for all north and central Alberta forest protection areas, along with both the City and County of Grande Prairie.
