Wildfire crews begin actioning Alberta side of Kiskatinaw Wildfire

Wildfire crews from Alberta Wildfire and the County of Grande Prairie were able to begin actioning the Alberta side of the Kiskatinaw Wildfire Saturday, June 7.

Weather conditions remained stable throughout the day and although temperatures rose, no extreme fire behaviors were observed, allowing crews to action on the Alberta side of the BC boarder.

While hot and dry weather and winds gusting up to 60 km/h are forecasted for Sunday, June 8, a cold front will move through the region in the evening.

The fire is estimated at 13,061 hectares.

The County of Grande Prairie evacuation order and alert remain in place.
