Blueberry Mountain Wildfire burns into Moonshine Lake

Jun 11, 2025 | 1:26 PM

An update for the Central Peace Regional Emergency Management says the Blueberry Mountain Wildfire has crossed into the west side of Moonshine Lake Provincial Park.

Saddle Hills County crews are working on a fire guard between the blaze and Moonshine Lake, while the Savanna Fire Department waits on standby to protect structures.

CPREM says both the Blueberry and Happy Valley fire departments are supporting operations, while “Alberta Wildfire continues to respond with firefighting crews, heavy equipment, and aircraft, when smoke conditions allow for safe flight operations.”

As of yesterday, the blaze was an estimated 2,500 hectares in size.
