INTERPOL child luring tip leads to arrest

After receiving a tip from INTERPOL regarding a Grande Prairie male luring children into sending him “intimate images,” RCMP have a suspect in custody.

In April, Mounties received the tip, and on Monday, June 9, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the City, resulting in an arrest and the seizure of electronic devices and a firearm.

Nineteen-year-old Isaac Thomas Emson, was taken into custody with three charges laid against him:

Possession of child pornography
Luring a child
Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized

Emson was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with a court date set for today (Wednesday, June 11).

“Based on the information gathered throughout the investigation, including behaviours while being observed by police;” Mounties do believe there may be more victims, some not online, and ask anyone with information to contact the detachment at 780-830-5700, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

A list of known emails and usernames was also provided by RCMP to identify more potential victims, as well as help protect the online community:
